The company Hammerfest

Hammerfest produces eider-downs and quilts in true eider-down of goose down.

Those familiar with the frozen north know that Hammerfest is the most northerly town in the world, situated near the North Cape , just 15° south of the North Pole, it is at the extreme limits of the inhabited world.

This incredibly scenic part of Norway presents a vast and almost savage wilderness.

The harsh and well conserved environment means that the people here have learned to adapt and live in harmony with their natural surroundings.
The local inhabitants make a living from the natural resources around them, mainly via fishing and the export of domestically raised goose down and feathers.

Hammerfest has tried to reflect this respect of nature by using one of the best materials nature can provide – goose down.
No artificial material or process has the ability to replicate the essential characteristics of goose down, which is why we still prefer to work with a material provided by mother nature.

The feathers and down arrive directly from the north, and after being carefully washed and then sterilised are used as filling in our products.

In particular, Hammerfest has been inspired by and tried to reflect the colours of the north and . . . . .

Our products in real goose down, have been developed for people like us who are inspired by nature , and who wish to sleep as comfortably and as naturally as possible.
